So I picked up my Sprints over last winter break. Mostly for martial arts (right!) Soon after, faced with Cleveland winter weather, I picked up my Flows. Now they're pretty much all I wear. (Whenever I put on regular shoes an old injury to my sacrum starts whining.) Oh, and I've taken up running, because running in them is awesome, unlike most previous kinds of running I've tried.

A couple questions:

On one spot on the inside bottom of my Sprints the sole has detached from the upper, and tends to catch on things when I'm pivoting on that foot. I've tried a standard silicone glue, and shoe goo (I'm thinking of trying shoe goo again, with a little more preparation beforehand) but neither held up - any suggestions for repair?

Also, the lack of waterproofness has been kind of an issue for me - in the winter, on campus, there's often a lot of snow, and a lot of salt, which ends with below freezing slush coming into the shoe to join me... and then me spending the next period of time sitting in the lab, or in class (where I'm supposed to be somewhat respectable*) where I'm not exactly moving around keeping warm. Anyone have any particularly good strategies for nasty weather?

* Only somewhat. As I was waiting for the project to warm up before my first lecture last semester, I asked if anyone had questions. One of the students asked "Yeah, how do your Flows hold up in the snow? I've been wanting to get a pair..."

I usually just let my feet warm up on their own -- I found that as long as the rest of me had the appropriate amount of thermal covering, my feet would warm up fairly quickly -- but on the especially bitter nights, I wore the Iniji socks. It might not help with the Flows because it sounds like they just remain wet, but the socks really didn't disrupt my runs at all and I could take them off immediately and not have to worry about lingering sogginess.

I have a couple of pairs of the Injinji's. And I'm pretty fond of them.

Honestly, if I was just running in the Flows, I probably wouldn't be worried about this. The cold/wet problem comes up most when I'm trekking around campus and can't just take off my shoes, and when I'm outside doing forms slowly.
